Carlo Acutis To Be Canonized by the Catholic Church
Sainthood for Italian Teen
Blessed Carlo Acutis, an Italian teenager and computer prodigy who died of leukemia in 2006, is set to become the Catholic Church's newest saint.
Pope Francis recognized May 23, 2024, the second miracle needed for the canonization of Acutis, who was beatified in 2018.
Known as "God's influencer," Acutis used his computer skills to create websites and online content about his Catholic faith. He also volunteered at a soup kitchen and helped the homeless.
Acutis' life is an example of how the internet can be used for good to spread positive messages and inspire others.
