Knicks Need to Respond in Game 5 After Blowout Loss

Knicks Coach Tom Thibodeau

CLEVELAND, OHIO - MAY 05

The defending champions are officially on the ropes. Despite playing the first two games of their series against the Cleveland Cavaliers on the road, the New York Knicks were blown out in Game 4 by a score of 128-108.

The loss puts the Knicks in a precarious position, as they now trail the series 3-1 and are facing elimination in Game 5. Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau knows that his team needs to respond in a big way.

"We've got to be better," Thibodeau said. "We've got to be tougher. We've got to be more physical. We've got to execute better. We've got to make shots. We've got to do everything better."

The Knicks have been struggling offensively throughout the series, and they were particularly poor in Game 4. They shot just 40.2% from the field and 28.6% from three-point range.

Thibodeau says that his team needs to find a way to generate more offense, but he also knows that they need to improve their defense.

"We've got to find a way to score more points," Thibodeau said. "But we've also got to do a better job defensively. We've got to get stops. We've got to make them miss. We've got to rebound the basketball."

The Knicks will have their chance to respond in Game 5 on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden. If they want to stay alive in the series, they will need to play their best game of the season.
